I thought u had to be a pi or something to conceal carry? What's going on with this now in nj. All I thought I know is conceal and open carry is next to impossible here.

that is the problem. it seems the 9th circuit has declared the restrictions in CA, which seem to mirror NJ's restrictions, to be unconstitutional. so we need to take up the fight here.
NJ is the 3rd circuit, so it doesn't affect things in NJ. http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-3rd-circuit/1640513.html
"the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey ... held constitutional N.J.S.A. § 2C:58–4, a New Jersey law regulating the issuance of permits to carry handguns in public (“Handgun Permit Law”). ... We will affirm the judgment of the District Court. ...
“justifiable need,” ... is codified in the New Jersey Administrative Code as follows: the urgent necessity for self-protection, as evidenced by specific threats or previous attacks which demonstrate a special danger to the applicant's life that cannot be avoided by means other than by issuance of a permit to carry a handgun."
Only the SCOTUS can resolve conflicts between the federal circuits, so there will have to be a further appeal, for a nationwide decision. http://www.supremecourt.gov/Search.a...les/13a468.htm http://www.examiner.com/article/nint...s-carry-ruling

I assumed it doesn't directly affect nj, but I would think it would indirectly affect things here especially if someone made a case of it.

Drake v. Filkois the case! The question is, whether the SCOTUS will actually hear the appeal. They can be denied, without a hearing. Right now, there is a conflict between the 3rd and the 9th. However, the California case can still be reviewed by the entire group of circuit judges, not just the three who already voted on it.
Typical of NJ , such a ****ty state. I'm here in VA visiting and just met a few people walking around with guns on them.
That makes VA better how exactly?
