It seems like you love to make exaggerations about New Jersey every chance you get. But its not New Jersey's fault that you choose to be a radon tester and not do something more productive. Please give it up because nobody is buying. I live in Camden County, you live in the boonies of Burlington County. I actually go into these communities and meet the people, I volunteer and see what the community is really like. Your generalizations do a great harm to the many great people of the City of Camden.

I did a google search of thorium and wikipedia(I realize it's not a reliable source) says that thorium cannot penetrate human skin. It said it's only harmful if ingested. Is this true? I honestly know nothing about it.

Yes that is true. If you listen to FlyersFan, the New Jersey hater you will never get accurate information.

Thorium is a radioactive element that was used in the paint mixture to make the old luminous watch dials that glowed in the dark....of course the reason they glowed was they were RADIOACTIVE !!!! Apparently some of the waste was dumped at several sites in Camden and while it may not penetrate the skin the decay of the thorium results in radon gas which causes lung cancer. The women who painted the radioactive paint on the watch dials used to wet their thin paint brushes with their tongues to bring them to a point and ingested the actual radioactive paint causing many different types of cancer......not to mention their lips actually glowed at night. This is just one of the reasons this city needs to be bulldozed and cleaned up from the ground up !!!

Been cleaned up, and it mostly affected industrial sites from turn of the century company. You can do some research on it, probably not as bad even as radon gas, which obviously affects tons of Nj homes.

Camden is a very poor town. Everyone is mainly on government assistance and there's a sufficient amount of crime due to the people who live there. No jobs, no money, run down houses.

I wouldn't suggest LIVING THERE.
