I agree however I am interested in knowing where the house for $77,000 was found...I need to check into income property out there

That's the median price according to this website. I'm sure you can find stuff a lot cheaper than that...just doing a quick search on Yahoo Real Estate for houses between 5,000 and 70,000 came up with 91 results.

That's coming from YOU
No one is saying to live in those areas of Woodbury.. if they even exist because Camden has some of the worst areas in the country.

Don't you buy my house! I have one saved that I would love to buy if we go that route. Honestly, though, unless you already own rentals, I would be terrified to be a landlord. I work in the courthouse in my town and we have so many people filing evictions every day. Good luck, though. I'm sure if you already know the ins and outs of it, you'll be fine.
And no, I haven't yet looked through the newspapers' websites. That's my next step as soon as we figure out where we're moving. I really hope we'll have more of an idea in the next few weeks, although it seems typical to hear back from everyone around the beginning of June.

Hi Katisu,
I want to give you another perspective on this. Be aware that I am familiar with Camden, I didn't simply read about it, look at some statistics, see some pictures, hear some stories, and paint my own picture.
I don't recall whether you mentioned having kids. Do you have children? If you do, then don't move to Camden, and if you do, then send your kids to schools outside of Camden. I won't share my experiences with Camden schools, but I have had a few recently, and in a nutshell, the schools there are completely and utterly broken.
I also have two friends who are police officers in Camden. While it's second hand info, the stories aren't good. If you don't have kids, I think you'll be okay if you use common sense, be aware, and be careful. If you do have kids, then you may want to reconsider your move.

We don't have kids yet. If we did, we probably wouldn't be considering Camden. No offense. We are young and I feel like we are fairly cautious people. That's part of why I think we would probably do fine there if we lived in a decent area.
Thank you very much for sharing your firsthand knowledge with us. It is a nice perspective.

Theres quite a few Cambell Soup workers that we have to assume have "common sense" that have been robbed, mugged and beaten......"being careful" isn't going to save you from those that wish to do you harm and Camden if full of those that wish to do you harm even if for no particular reason other than just "entertainment".

You will be fine in Camden. Rutgers Camden is a fine institution of higher learning.

Camden was the murder capital of the nation in recent years based upon population.....while Rutgers is a fine college I don't think any of those who were murdered in order to gain Camden that national distinction would be willing endorse the notion that "you will be fine in Camden". Try Rowan instead......you won't have to wear a helmet and body armor around campus.

You never have anything good to say about NJ. Please do not respond to my posts and I will not respond to yours. I think you would be scared to go to a Chuck E Cheese. A city dweller with common sense will be fine in the Rutgers University area of Camden.
