there was an episode on the Food Channel covering fried foods, and they showcased Rutt's Hut in Clifton as having the best fried hot dogs in the USA

interesting !
I was planning a special trip to Clifton just to sample their dogs...
Callahan's used to be the only other place to get that type of weiner.

Hiram's in Fort Lee, NJ has been doing this since the 1930s, and still going strong today. This is a great roadside hotdog stand. They also serve beer.

White Mana - this place in Hackensack, NJ on River St is missing from the list of the best burgers in NJ, and it was long time before Guy Fiery discovered it on Food Channel

EEE is spot on with this one! Just don't. Callahan's and Hiram's are (in the case of Callahan's 'were') superior with regard to hot dogs. My favorite's are Libby's in Paterson, and Jimmy Buff's. Libby's definitely fries their dogs.

I would go with Gotham City Diner in Fair Lawn on Broadway as the best diner.
