I've been going to Medusa Salon in New Milford for at least 20 years. The owner, Anita, won't be cheap, but she's great. They also have other less expensive stylists. 201 265 7766

Try Studio 107 in Fair Lawn. It's a really nice place, and the base is $40 for a cut and blow dry. They do a very good job- try Louisa in particular.

You know what stinks, Supercuts in Lyndhurst JUST lost a phenomenal woman who was a great stylist... but now I'm trying to track her down. When I do, I'm sure she'll be more expensive.
I'm looking for a replacement myself....
I used to go to a salon in Harrison that was wonderful...Sandra's Unique Hair Design ... I went to Nicky, but Sandra (the owner) was just as good and it was SO ridiculously reasonable. The distance became too much, but if I don't find someone I may go back....I REFUSE to pay some of the absurd prices around here.

always interesting to read how far some of us will travel for our favorite doctor, hairstylist, restaurant, etc.
but yeah, salon prices (and their expectations of gratuity) are no longer reconcilable.
on a lark, I went to a Great Clips, and actually got a super haircut.

Well, I'm considering the long drive only because I am NOT going to pay $150 for a color and cut. (NO WAY) My friends still goes to Sandras and pays $55 for both and always looks creat. For savings like that, I'll be happy to spend a little time and gas $.

The best I've been to is Magic Cuts Family hair studio in Haworth. Awesome prices, people, and designs.

Thanks for the info..is Anita good with haircolor? I've had some bad experiences with people trying to color my hair, i don't mind having to spend more if they are good..
