I have coworker who told me that she had purchased a condo in Montclair a couple years ago (not exactly sure when)...the taxes were reasonable at the time, but they have since gone through the roof...$14k or something like that...on a 1-bed CONDO.

I have heard that Harding township has some of the lowest property taxes around...however, the purchase price of homes are jacked up really high because of this.

Basically, one way or the other...you're gonna pay.
Why would you want to move out of Livingston? I was just there and it's like a breath of fresh air.

Actually I rather like Bergen County. If you look at Bergen the "worst" towns are maybe Hackensack, Garfield...and honestly they are not THAT bad. As opposed to my friend in Milburn where the worst town would be Irvington/Newark... a little different.

Well, see here's where you are WRONG. My in lawe relocated to Chatham and my friends are in Milburn... and trust me, you are far closer to "bad" areas than if you are in - say Wyckoff.

I'd rep you if I could. And by a glimpse of the map Moorestown is not too far from Pennsauken or Camden....

Oh, well if a RAPPER lives there...it must be bad.

FYI... there are MANY rappers living in Alipine and Upper Saddle River now. So they should not be considered desirable either....

today, right now, what is *overpriced*? Long Beach Island and Beach Haven West.

I think if you are comparing it to a national market, NJ is overpriced no matter how you slice it. It takes a lot more "bread" to live the "middle class" existence here than it does in many other areas. And the salaries are not as "up there" in this region as they used to be.

Now that said, there are the MORE ridiculous and the less ridiculously priced within NJ.
