I initially had a meltdown. Then I did just what you said... focus on what's important. Sat down and looked at my monthly budget and while we'd be tight, we'd MAKE it with my hubby's paycheck and my unemployment. We're on his insurance, so no COBRA (thank Heavens). There will be some cuts made too, but honestly... EVERYTHING in life happens for a reason.... so I am waiting and taking it in stride. Although I am still having a Ketel One and Cranberry juice right now. (That will have to be downgraded.....)
I'm so sorry EEEPs . I do see alot of HR job listings though so maybe you will only be unemployed for a short time? M&Ms has a few HR listings... maybe check out their website?

Sorry about the layoff. Sounds like you have a good attitude about it though. I've been through it and so have family members and every single time it has ended up working out "for the best". Something better has always come along...be it a new job, starting a business, staying home with the kids etc. Hard to see the good in it now and I don't want to sound too "ra ra" happy because I know it sucks - but it will work out. Best of luck.

Thanks Wiles & UK. I DO agree, things happen for a reason, so I'm sure something will come out of this. Today, frankly, I'm happy that I can get home (after school drop offs) and REST for the first time in - oh - I don't know - 2 yrs???

Sorry to hear about the layoff. I was told that unemployment is up to 72 weeks now. Can that be possible? It used to be for 3 or 6 months. Keep your head up. I need security in one of the dept. stores. How do you look in uniform with a gun belt?

In 6 months you should have something. Think positive.
