Exactly Mike! I'm here for that reason. If I call my family they will wig out. I've called 2 friends already and they are supper supportive, one is picking the kids up after school today. She figures I'll be getting the news around 4:30 - 5:00 so let me be alone and deal with it - either way. But the venting process is helping...and better here than with my hubby, Mom, sister who will ALL just make me more crazy.
To top it off, I'm paying off FILs funeral (alone because my BILs business is doing terrible right now) AND my youngest is making her First Communion on Sat. My husband was flipping that we're calling off her party. Uhm, no we're not. We went SMALL in light of current economic times - even though we were OK I think it's wrong to rub this in others faces... oh, yes, you are out of work and we're all in the crapper and I'm going to have an expensive, unnecessary opuletnt party for my baby's First Communion. No, excessive and in poor taste. So it's 30 family members at a friend's restaurant and very basic. That will stay. *sigh* but I wish the mood was better, it already stunk because my FIL's death.

the worst is sitting and waiting. I ,mean I hate waiting for possible bad news. I am type just get it over with not sit and worry for nothing.
Its like anticipating a root canal.
I hope its not you, but I can afford your kettle one!! Let us know. And remember its not cancer!!!

LOL - so we'll take a Ketel One collection for me???
They can let anyone go, and I may be it. NOT the way I wanted to spend my personal day. I DID call my boss and asked her, she said she can not say who it is until the boss arrives at 4:00. I told her if it is me PLEASE call me and don't let me have to go in tomorrow to find out. She was very quiet, which she never is.... plot thickens.
Capt... I don't expect anyone will save me, Obama included. I've been taking care of myself since I was 15 yrs old and I expect I'll be doing it until the day I die. I don't have a problem in the world with that. I do think having an over the top party, when many of the friends I would invite are struggling to survive, would have been in poor taste. But if I loose my job, it's probably best I felt that way becuase it wouldn't be the time to spend $$$ on a party. I'm content, it's about her sacrament and having the family we love close anyway - not a flashy party. Can't say Jesus would like that anyway!

Alex, you kill me!
FYI... just got word from a reliable source that it is most likely me and one other guy in my dept. He just had a baby and his wife lost her job 6 mos ago! I feel worse for him than I do for me.
