It's not cause, it's layoffs. It is what it is.

exactly.

I've seen that scenario replay many times -- when/if business picks up for him, he will find himself looking to hire people who have zero skills in his line of work... whereas if he kept his existing people, they'd be that much more grateful for his loyalty, and their experience would be his reward.

given the nepotism you cited, I'm guessing he inherited the company.

I predict his doors will close entirely, in less than 5 years... in which case, if you are let go, you'll be better off in the long run

FYI... just got word from a reliable source that it is most likely me and one other guy in my dept. He just had a baby and his wife lost her job 6 mos ago! I feel worse for him than I do for me.
You want me to call Telemundo & Univision so we can start protesting outside their offices? Perhaps a Cuban American Coalition for unfair layoffs? I'm sure they won't like that type of attention <evil grin>

We are all on the same boat..sailing for the unknown land. I feel your pain.

My wife got laid off 3 months ago and so far no luck at all.

Thanks to housing bubble that landed us in housing crash (oh no..soft landing) that landed in financial crisis that landed in global meltdown that landed in lending freeze that landed in business downsizing that landed in layoffs.

Thanks to housing bubble.

Quit trying to make her worry more than she already is. It's not very nice. At all.

exactly, its not my fault. its a combination of right wing talk radio and foxnews that has made me so heartless.

eeep should be happy. clearly, private businesses are suffering so the government only needs to add more taxes and fees to finish the job. then we can live in a nice communist society. a workers paradise.
