A strong vote for Short Hills here---and for any of the towns surrounding due to the proximity of the Midtown Direct train. The schools in Millburn Twshp (where Short Hills is located) are fantastic. Great community, very pretty....

I would also look at Summit....

Default best place to live near NYC if ya got $$$

thread mentions some great places! I agree that if money is not an issue and you like city living, NYC would be a great cultural opportunity for the whole family. I live in Cherry Hill and it's great but too far for the comute. I'm originally from Westchester, NY and recommend Pelham or Bronxville. You'll find beautiful homes, great schools, and an easy comute via car or rail to NYC.
