Real Housewives of NJ!?!?!?!
Ok, so my fiance had me watch this show with her, and it was a hot mess. Please tell me the woman and their family's are not accurate representatives of NJ's upper crust.

This show, like all of the other Housewives series, pick "characters" that boil down and compress all of the bad, juicy stereotypes associated with that certain location.
This show is as representative of NJ as the opening sequence of The Sopranos is at showing what the garden state offers as a whole.

Yeah, I understand that. I have watched the other one's (NYC, LA, ATL) and they are off, thats for sure. It just seems the producers picked the craziest gals they could find to do the show. Sorry if it seemed like I was generalizing in saying that every woman in Jersey where lunatics.

No truly upper crust person would ever be on a "Real Housewives" show whether they lived in NYC, Atlanta or Orange County. Only lunatics need apply.

This show is possibly the worst one out of the series and is a true embarassment! Where do they find these people? It seems like they just progressively get worse. Orange County was entertaining and the most closely related to reality and then boom, Atlanta (oh boy), NY (Talk about stuck up), and then NJ (Guidoville).

of course not. the show wouldn't be a show if the producers hadn't found the most extreme characters out there.
remember, the "real housewives" series largely derives its entertainment value from playing up stereotypes and fomenting cattiness and conflict between the ladies. it shamelessly appeals to the lowest common denominator.
imagine if the show's focus was on a group of ladies living in far hills (which is in an old money, blue-blooded part of nj) who spend their days sipping tea and volunteering for some charitable organization. or if it depicted a group of hard-working, low-key, middle class suburbanites who eat at applebee's and are worried about the quality of the local school system.
would that be a recipe for high ratings? of course not. trashiness and excess rule the day with reality television, not stable personalities or fiscal responsibility.

What night and Time is it on. I'll just deduct an hour for Central Time. I know some of the Former New Jersyans are watching it here.
Its most likely not real, all those shows do sterotypes. I can see it here, Men wearing Cowboy hats, lol. Actually only the Tourists here wear those. The bigger the hat, the futhur north they are from.
