Default Central Air Installation Cost

Hey guys,

Anyone have any ballpark figures they can throw out that might give me an idea of how much it would cost to install a central air system in a 1970s colonial type house? Just curious... thanks!

It depends a lot on if you already have duct work such as with a forced hot air heating system otherwise big bucks.

Depends- if you currently have a ducted heating system (forced hot air), you're looking at around $4k. If your heating is via baseboard, you could be looking at $10-15k, depending on how the ducts ned to be run.

Default Try HVLP(?) AC

They make split units and HVLP "high volume low pressure" systems now that don't require all the costly ducting. Look at Sanyo.com for some units- I think Mitsubishi and Fujitsu make 'em too. No idea on pricing-
Good luck
