Riverplace at Rahway, NJ (city hall, to rent, crime)

We are planning to move to the Riverplace Apts, Rahway downtown, does anyone have any feedback about the place.. how safe is the surrounding area?

recently it seems there are a few people interested in the new developments in rahway. I think the surrounding area is safer than it looks, the crime index on city-data is only 200 compared to the US average of 320. Rahway is centrally located (woodbridge,newark,south jersey) and that's one reason I'm also lookin to rent there in july as well.

You will be fine there , it is located a block down from the train station
and a block over from the police station and city hall.
When you get there make sure to stop by the neighborhood restaurants and bars on main st and cherry st, matter of fact i just finished doing an open house and am heading over to the waiting room (bar restaurant) on cherry st.
If you are not moving this month then make sure you come down to the hot rods and harleys day on may 16th from 12 noon till 6pm it is run by the rahway center partnership and is fun for the whole family

@briang.. yes, we r going to try out all the restaurants around.. we also like the fact that the library and arts centre is so close.. we did not make it for the hot rods event .. but are hoping that there are lot more activities thru the summer that we can enjoy.. thanks again

If you are around this weekend , my brother inlaws band is playing at the waiting room which is on cherry st between main and irving. it is only 2 blocks from where you are looking
