Default Riverplace at Rahway, NJ

We are planning to move to the Riverplace Apts, Rahway downtown, does anyone have any feedback about the place.. How safe is the surrounding area?

are there any other apartments for rent around that area? (close to the Rahway station)

anything would be appreciated.

thanks

Lived in Union County my whole life, lived in Rahway for four years. Rahway is an overall safe town. Not to worry your not in an area like Newark. You can walk around during the day, shop, drive around, do whatever. However, believe it or not unfortunately Rahway does have a reputaion, and it does have a "bad" area and those appartments are in the area that is "not soo desirable" area. I lived on the Linden border near St.George Ave but from what I remember all the crime was mainly in the downtown area past the train tracks (Main Street) the lawrence St, East Gand Ave, route 1 & 9 area.

Since this is a dupe post i will dupe my answer

You will be fine there , it is located a block down from the train station
and a block over from the police station and city hall.
When you get there make sure to stop by the neighborhood restaurants and bars on main st and cherry st, matter of fact i just finished doing an open house and am heading over to the waiting room (bar restaurant) on cherry st.
If you are not moving this month then make sure you come down to the hot rods and harleys day on may 16th from 12 noon till 6pm it is run by the rahway center partnership and is fun for the whole family

Welcome to the neighborhood

i love Rahway. Live here now and wouldnt want to live anywhere else. The town in very safe, quiet and everything is in walking distance ie train station, icecream shop, schools, CVS etc. BTW, the prison is technically in Woodbridge and last I heard the name was changing to Middlesex County Prison. Anywho, my neighborhood is very quiet and the town regulates the condition and up keep of your property. The parks are great and close by and everyone is so pleasant. Downtown is fun and they have great activities every month. The wine and cheese tasting is coming up soon! yay Rahway.
