While looking for good Mother's Day activities, I stumbled upon this in Parsippany:

The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms

It is the home of legendary furniture maker Gustav Stickley and has since been converted into a museum. My Mom is a HUGE fan of his stuff, so I am thinking of taking her there for Mother's Day.

I have some questions though.

What kind of activities does it have? Granted, there's a house, and a museum, or is the house the museum?

Are there any gardens, places to walk around? It's 30 acres, so I'm curious.

Is there enough here to occupy a full day? Half day? A couple of hours? I need to know how long something like this might take so I can plan the rest of the day accordingly.

Thanks in advance for the information!!!

Hello yes I would recomend the stickley house highly. The house is the museum and is small but is nicely maintained. The tour is a must and is the only way you can really get to see the inside.I would say it takes about 45 minutes .When I went there were only four in the group but there may be more at this time. The grounds are pretty but not much to see.I think is was about 14 for adualts and 12 for senoirs. There is a nice gift shop also.I would say you could to this in around 2 hours enjoy

Oh! I see your mom is into these antiques, so yes, by all means go--it's kind of underwhelming if you don't care about arts and crafts furniture, architecture and gardening.

I took these photos last spring at Stickley. I love the architecture! Unfortunately I couldn't take photos inside the house (I think you need special permission for that). The tour is very interesting, though.
