Default The shore? Point Pleasant? A beach hotel/motel? Family?

Hi there,

I live in Chicago, and am planning a trip to NJ this summer to visit the in-laws

We're planning 3 days with them, and then 3 days at the shore.

Can anyone give me a suggestion for a hotel/motel that is close to the beach, family friendly, and clean?

We don't want to rent a house and do a whole week - so some type of hotel would be best. We have three kids (ages 5 & 6).

A few friends recommended Point Pleasant, but we're flexible. They said that isn't a bad drive compared to some places further south. (We'll be heading from the Hillsborough area).

Any ideas for me? It is hard to choose a hotel from the internet!

Thanks!

Hmm.. In Pt. Pleasant Beach, The White Sands is a nice hotel. Really, despite Pt. Pleasant being a very nice, family-friendly, safe town, the motels (other than the White Sands, which is right on the ocean) are a bit sleazy. There really are only a couple left and the town is slowly kicking them all out.

The next town south of Pt. Pleasant, Bay Head, has a number of nice bed and breakfasts, as does Spring Lake, which is to the north.

I would suggest the white sands as well, been a long while since I have been over there, but they did have some nice rooms w/refrig. etc. right on the beach. I think restaurant also in the same complex. Spano's?
Do a google search, not sure if I could post the link, TOS rules. Also the Acquariam is on the boardwalk, great show for kids and adults.
Good Luck

Correct. Spano's has a location in the White Sands and another on Arnold Avenue. It's a great restaurant.
