Default South Jersey Questions

I might be moving to NJ at the end of this year. Few questions, if you could answer any, that'd be great!

1) What are the gym/fitness center prices near Moorestown/Mt Laurel/Cherry Hill?

2) Is it still feasible to have fun at night and go to Philly (I'm in my late 20s) without a car if I live in South Jersey?

I don't go to a gym, I have equipment in my basement so can't help you with first question. There is a bus that stops along Moorestown Main Street to center city. I have no idea how often it runs. If you want to take the train to Philly you can walk to a station along the Patco line if you live in Collingswood, Westmont or Haddonfield.

There are many gym's, fitness centers in the area and prices vary. I haven't belonged to a gym in a long time so I can't help you there.

The easiest way in and out of Philadelphia, New Jersey is the PATCO train.

Port Authority Transit Corporation

A few buses run through the area as well.

New Jersey Transit

Look at, sorry long list: 403, 404, 405, 406, 407 409/417/418, 450, 451, 455,457,459.

Those all run through Cherry Hill, Voorhees, Haddon Heights, Moorestown, the towns within reach of Philadelphia.

I guess it's possible to be okay without a car, but it would definitely be helpful, unless you have a bunch of friends with cars. Yes you can take the train to Philly, but you'll usually have to drive to the train station at least.

Gyms-
There is a chain called Retro Fitness in both Moorestown and Cherry Hill that only costs $20/month. It is definitely the best deal around.

There are LA Fitness' in CH and Mt Laurel. Their memberships vary but I believe my buddy pays $33/month.

Then there is also Future Fitness in Mt Laurel which I heard is nice but more pricey.

LA Fitness is a ripoff. I think you have to pay a $150 "registration fee" and then usually about $40 per month so you can hang out with a bunch of pretty boys who do nothing but bench.

Retro Fitness sounds like a good deal, although it looks like you have to pay a $50 startup fee there too. Another good deal is Planet Fitness, which also has locations in Moorestown and Cherry Hill and has memberships for $10 or $20 a month, with the $10 a month plan charging a $29 startup fee and a once per year $29 "annual rate guarantee fee" and the other one having a once per year $39 "annual rate guarantee fee." I've never been to a Retro Fitness, but one thing I don't really like about Planet Fitness is there isn't really any free weights.
