commute from Morristown train station.
Hi everyone,
I will be commuting from NYC (Port AUthority) to Whippany for my new job (Bears Stearns, 115 S jefferson road). I will be using public transit. I figured closest train station is Morristown.
So I am having issues commuting from Morristown station to 115 s jefferson road. Buses are not very frequent and reliable from Morristown station. I would appreciate it, If anyone has any idea on how should I work out my commute.
If there are any direct private buses frm Port authority, NYC directly to the 115 S jefferson, I will take them. ANy advice is greatly appreciated.
-Thanks

Any chance your company will offer a shuttle service?

Also, look at the Convent Station as well -- it is easier there as not in the heart of downtown Morristown, and also one stop closer. So just see which falls closer to your building.

I am not sure if company will offer shuttle service. I wish they would. The buses from Convent/Morris Plains stop like almost 2 miles away from my work place. Morristown station is also 2 miles away from my work place.
Giving 12 dollars for a ride one way is too much. Does anyone carpool or is willing to share a ride. Please let me know.

Do you know anyone at your job who would be willing to pick you up at the train on their way to work? Did you see how much a cab would cost? That's another option. Only other think I can think of is for you to get a folding bicycle that you can take on the train with you and bike the 2 miles everyday to your office. Inconvenient when it rains and bad in the winter, but people do it.

Yeah the cab costs 12-15 bucks one way. I will see if someone would be ready to share a ride/ carpool when I start working there. I would need to see if bicycle option is a practical one for me.
I would have expected some form of public transport to reach atleast in the radius of 0.5 miles of Bear and Stearns/JPMC in peak hours.

I used work in the Bears Sterns campus (not for Bears Sterns though). At the time they had shuttle running between the Madison Avenue office in NYC to Whippany office. Not sure whether you can check with your current employer (JPM??) to see whether the shuttle is still running, but at the time the schedule is like once per hour.
Majority of my co-workers, who lived in NY, used to drive to the office though.

I don't know if you solved your commuting problem, but there's a new commuter service that can take you from the train station to your workplace on Jefferson Rd for $5 a trip (if you use it on a regular basis). Is called "A Way Shuttle", phone 973-883-0380, e-mail awayshuttle@gmail.com
Good luck!
