I agree. All over this site you here people who are obviously white making ridiculous comments about certain areas. Listen: if you are white you can go shopping in downtown Newark NO BODY will attack you. And as for the comment about the dude copping heroin in Irvington: I would imagine that the uneasy feeling you described is because of the situation you were in not specifically because you were in Irvington. |

I used to go to Irvington shopping on Springfield ave, i liked the cheese steaks in Tastys on corner of Springfield and Myrtle Ave and i am white until somebody didnt like that i was white. I had couple incidents in Irvington that let me know that i am not welcomed there because i am white. i still go there but i dont always feel so safe. One incident was when i was coming back from a club and at 2am i was waiting at the red light on corner of Springfield ave and Stuyvesant Ave all i heave on the corner "look a white boy in a car Get Him" i saw bunch of teens running toward me, i had to go very quickly. I could name couple but i would have to write an essay but its not a very friendly place for white ppl even though we still have friends that live there and one has barb wire around property and windows with barbwire and welded bars on them.

are the blacks pretending that they are sooo welcoming to whites when whites visit an all black area? please, thats BS. i guess its not politically correct to say so but whites can expect to be discriminated against in all black areas. i very rarely put myself in that position but i remember in the walmart in valley stream, ny the blacks made it clear that we werent welcome. i agreed with them, i told my wife that we are never to return there.
