Are all the parking lots near the station park-and-lock? How crowded does it get in the morning, will I always find a spot? Any better than taking the PATH from Newark?

I just saw the special rate 6.95 daily for early bird in Newark close to Prtential center. The average cost for lots around Prutential Center is $9 a day.

I figure I'll be better off catching the PATH in Harrison than in Newark since to get to Penn Station I would have to get off 280 onto McCarter Hwy and I can guess that would be rough in the morning even at 7:00-7:15.

there are many park-and-lock lots near the harrison PATH station. most cost between $100-$120 per month. there are also a number of all-day parking meters, but you need to get there super early to grab those spots (probably by 6:30am, if not earlier).

i highly recommend taking the PATH from harrison instead of newark for a number of reasons: the town is easier to get into and out of, easier parking, and it's a more comfortable place to walk the streets at night.

How often do you need to park in Harrison?

I practiced the commute today, took less than 1hr 15 door-to-door each way. The metered parking is suspended and I think it's only 10 hours, I probably need at least 12 hrs. You can't beat the lot right across from the station, $7 for the day, $145 per month.

I'll be commuting on the PATH from Harrison starting next week. The garage directly next to the PATH is $10/day - I'd like to find something cheaper. Is the lot across the street (near the soccer arena) still the best/cheapest option at $7/day? How is security there?

Thanks.
