Default NJ Cancels Property Tax Rebates

Many property owners in NJ just effectively received an major property tax increase, making this state more unafforable for those who are struggling the most.

Thanks a lot, wasteful NJ government!

I'm hoping NJ goes bankrupt sooner or later so we get bailed out by the federal govt who will hopefully step in and go over the unions' heads in cutting benefits for state workers. Some hardcore investigation into double-dippers and such would be much welcome as well.

The smartest thing I've seen you post, once bankrupt all our contracts with the greedy unions will be null and voided and we can restart with a clean slate and make some real changes. The welfare program, free healthcare programs would all be forced to change. Just like GM the more bailouts/taxes we raise the more we prolong the inevitable. REBOOT the system.

Why don't you send this info to the Burlington County Times and suggest they investigate and print the findings ????

The press already knows; legally there is nothing wrong. If the state went bankrupt then policies and rules can be rewritten but for now there is nothing anyone can legally do

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic, but we are teetering on the brink. If we were to fall over, I have to imagine that the feds would step in and in return for their bailout, we'd have to change our practices. It's probably the most likely way we could address the structural problems the state faces. I just don't see a political force rising from within this state that could actually effect massive change.
