For those that don't know, the new luxury rail line from Penn Station and Newark direct to Atlantic City offering luxy class accomodations. Should be a boon to all of South Jersey as more people see the region and understand what a desirable place it is to live.

ACES TRAIN

What do you see from the train that will make South Jersey look desirable? You get on in NYC or Newark, and get off in AC. AC itself certainly isn't desirable to most as a place to live, and train tracks generally don't run through the high-end parts of towns, so what you're going to see on that trip certainly isn't going to "wow" anyone into wanting to move to South Jersey.

People will go to the shore while they are there. Visit friends and family in the region, decide to vacation in Cape May, etc., possibly go to Philly.

Hmmm....they're going to do all of that without a car, huh? Kinda like the folks who take busses down there? I'm thinkin 99% of the folks who take that train ride will never leave the boardwalk.

Let's not fool ourselves. People don't go to AC so they can visit other parts of the state. They go to AC to gamble, then they go home. If they want to go to Cape May they will, but not as a side trip from AC. If anything it's the other way around.

And NYC to Philly via AC? BWAHAHAHA!!!

Maybe but some explore the area especially if they are tired of Manhattan which gets old very quickly.

Yup, they rent a car in Manhattan and drive there.

Some, maybe, but I wouldn't call it a "boon to South Jersey" as your original post stated.

They can rent a car for much less in AC and explore, then jump back on the train. That's the problem with you guys, you can't think or come up with a solution. The train goes to AC, so 99% of the people will never leave the boardwalk. LMAO.

If you figure out the cost of the rail tickets and car rental in AC and compare it to jsut renting a car in NYC, renting the car in NYC will will every time.

There is no problem taht needs a solution. If you want to promote southern NJ, there are better ways than taking people on a train that runs through crappy areas, dumping them in the cesspool known as AC and expecting them to figure it all out after that.
