Default Know of a good auto repair place in Scotch Plains or surrounding area?

Hey, everyone,

Can anyone recommend a reliable auto repair shop in Scotch Plains or surrounding area? My car’s brake is making some noises, and I need to get it checked. We just moved to this area not long ago.

Thanks a lot!

I usually do brakes myself, but there is a shop on RT 22 East going down the hill past the GSP in Hillside called Intercar. Tony is the head person there and he usually is quite reasonable and always honest. I have also had major repair work like a timing belt and water pump done at places like Strauss, the one in Roselle, anyway and that turned out well and according to the quoted price.

Intercar should be listed online or the phone book.

Fanwood Getty, on South Ave in Fanwood is fabulous. It is owned by Donnie and Joe and we have been using them for everything for over 20 years. Occasionally they haven't even charged us for stuff -like checking for things my husband may have thought was wrong. Our daughter and son in law, who live in Maine, use them when they drive down to visit for oil changes, check-ups etc. They are very honest and skilled. They stay in touch when fixing things, call with estimates, provide less expensive alternatives (eg. told us to buy the tires we wanted online, ship them to the shop and they would replace them). We highly recommend Fanwood Getty.
