Default artists in New Jersey? Near Chester?

Are there any artists out there in New Jersey or near Chester? I am opening a gallery in Chester and am looking for artists who wish to display their work.

You have one hell of a commute to Chester from Sparta. You give up on Hopcatcong?

Sorry I dont know any artists but I do wonder if you are crazy trying to open up a luxury store like a gallery. Who has money to buy art in this economic depression?

I do seem to remember an art gallery in Bedminster on 202 if they are still there.

I do wish ya luck though.

It is not that bad of a commute. I have several artists currently who are involved in this venture. We have had good sales via the internet so we're not worried at this point. Thank you for your good wishes.

A pal of mine beat you to it! She owns LaReve Gallery. She deals with most of the local artists from that area.

I cannot locate that name in the phone book...I didn't see a gallery by that name in Chester either, where is she located? And just because one artist has their work somewhere, doesn't mean they can't put it somewhere else. I have mine in several galleries.

Is anyone out there that can give SOME encouragement? I'm hearing all negative.

There is a gellery called Highlands Art Gallery in Chester. (I haven't been there, but they are also on the web, of course.)
There is also a thriving gallery in Bernardsville, by the name J.M. Stringer. You might want to get in touch with them. Or at least visit their website.
Good luck.
What sort of art are you considering for a gallery? Will it be differnt rom wnhat these and other local galleries have, or do you feel several galleries can be successful in that area even with the same basic type of work?

Sorry...didn't mean for it to sound like a "naner naner poo poo" post . Her place is behind main street - first right if heading east on main just after the rt. 206 intersection. You should stop by and talk to her... I'm sure she would be willing to help you out...give you some names, etc. She's also a phenominal photographer... she has some of her work displayed in the gallery. Nothing wrong with competition... I've always said it's the best thing for a business.

Thanks Bill!! I've been to both of these galleries and the items we have will be different. I don't believe in having the same things that others have, although some of the art may be similar....I've been checking the other stores and so far, only 1 items is near another shops....and we're considering talking to our artist regarding that issue as he assured us he wasn't in any of the galleries near our area....
