Man, those were the days...and the Channel nine weather guy! I thought I was the only one who remembered him! He was like the "let's get ready to rummmblllle!" guy of weather, always saying some old person's birthday by saying "Thomas Sulivan is 98 years young, congragulations!"
and Richard Bay...before there was Jerry Springer, Jersey had Richard Bay.
And yes, I remember steampipe Alley! The only show for nine year olds that was one guido joke after another.

My friend worked in a Fotomat. They had arrangements with the supermarket and used their "facilities." She had to put a sign up saying "Going to Loo... "

You know what it's more recent, but I miss Linens and Things. I liked it so much more than Bed, Bath and Beyond. And I liked Fortunoff's too... another bummer.

Bradlees and Bennigans! How I miss them.
The old Bradlees became Lowes in Union.

Number one thing I miss is the US#1 Flea Market and antiques. Before Ebay, it was the place that you went to to buy ANYTHING. Man do I miss it! There were all kinds of clothes, swords, music, art, a goth shop, a metal shop, a rasta shop, a tattoo parlor, kicthen stuff, jewelry, records, books, all under one roof. Everybody went there!...now? it's been replaced with a movie theatre that sucks anyway and is going out of business because the Regal up the street is ten times better.
I miss the old Jersey...before the Yuppies took over and pushed the decent, working class folks out.

Young Upwardly Mobile Professionals
Yuppie- Young Urban Professional or Young Upwardly Mobile Professional. How is this a "bad" thing? Where could anyone be confused by saying that Yuppies "took over" and it was a bad thing or that Yuppies eliminated the working class. Yuppies work and Yuppies are now going Green.
But if you're really hard up for rolling papers or ninja swords, you can always go to Englishtown Flea market, Columbus Flea Market or the really gem of the bunch, The New Egypt Flea Market on Rt 537.

I miss been a kid, when the summer days were long and time lasted forever. I miss laying on the grass and looking up at the clouds and see the different shapes they would take. I miss sitting around w/ my friends or playing ball all day long. I miss my mom calling me to come home because it was dinner time. I miss riding bikes or taking a walk to the local music store and check out the latest albums. I miss sleepovers in the yard w/ my friends and looking up at the night skies and seeing all the stars and telling stories. I miss snow days from school and having snow fights w/ my brothers and my mom yelling at us to come get a cup of hot chocolate and to get rid of our wet clothes before we catch a cold. Yeah, that's what I miss.
