We are looking to move to a town which is good to commute to both Pocono and New York. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot
What do you mean by "good" not sure if you mean miles or time? There is no such thing as a "good" commute relevant to those two locations timewise. You would be looking at something along the Route 80 corridor and the traffic is just horrendous. You would be better off looking in terms of miles rather than time.

midway would be around denville, parsippany area in Morris County. But Morris county can be expensive... perhaps areas on the border with Warren county along rt. 80 might be you best option... Mt Olive, Byram (sussex), netcong... depends on your price range, school requirements, etc.

I agree with Wiley that the best bang for you buck would be Warren County. But the traffic . I could take over 2 hours to go from NYC to Hackettstown on a Friday night in the warmer weather. I commuted on Route 80 to Morristown for 2 years from Allamuchy and 7 years from Hackettstown/Independence and it was hell. I'm much happier now travelling on 78, but that doesn't help for the Poconos.
If you don't mind the traffic, White Township in Warren County has some very low taxes for northern NJ.
Paterson will feel like a safe haven to anyone who is currently living in or around the Poconos! They have more gang issues now than Newark!!! Ok, maybe not that bad but it's getting close.
