Default Voorhees State Park

Has anyone been to Voorhees State Park? I tried to reserve a campsite at Spruce Run for this weekend but there were no spots available, so they directed me to Voorhees which is 10 minutes away. Apparently there's an observatory on the grounds as well, which sounds cool.

Anyone ever been and care to share some reviews?

I've camped there decades ago and happened to drive past last weekend. Nice part of NJ, nearby fishing along the branch of the Raritan Riv, and Round Valley or Spruce Run is about 10 minutes away or less. I'd say go for it.

Default Vorhees state park

never camped there but it is indeed a nice place and a good center of operations for trips to Round Valley, spruce run, Ken Lockwood gorge.

Overlook with views of Spruce run just before the observatory. Bear country for sure. Also the Columbia Trail runs along the to-p of the gorge and stats in high Bridge and runs for 7 miles I recall.

Musconectong gorge and Point mtn Hunterdon co park just up rt 31 about 8 miles and a right on Andersonville rd to Penwell or River road along the musky to the end and make a right just before crossing over the musky to park for a nice hike up the mountains down through the fields, thru the woods and back along the river.

Premier trout fishing in the 'gorge' and a stunning place that might seem out of character for NJ. Super for photography.

The 'gorge ' is just the other side of 513. The dirt road has been cut in half so there is entry from either end. hoffman crossing road at the upstream end and not sure of the name of the road downstream but it is in High Bridge.

Wilderness camping at Round Valley, 15 minutes east on 22. Spruce Run is also a wildlife management area and there is good hiking on the mountain side.
