WAYNE, New Jersey
Hi all. I've got a job offer in Wayne, NJ. (Yes, I'm sure this time. )
I was wondering if you could please suggest some nice areas to live in? I have a budget of 600K to a mill.
How far is it from the city? (New York) How far is it to the ocean?
Do many people who work in Wayne live in the city? The only reason I ask is because the recruiter I spoke with claimed that many of the executives live in the city. I had always thought it to be the other way around.
I'd appreciate any advice.
Thanks so much!

How about the Packanack Lake section of Wayne? I have three relatives that live there with their families and love it. Two of them grew up in Wayne and when they married they bought homes in the Lake section.
It's very family oriented. My relative commutes to NYC by train everyday.
Your budget would be fine there.

I would like a suburban area with sidewalks close to upscale shopping. I would really like to live near a Nordstroms. LOL
I'd like at least a 4 bedroom and I would prefer not to have acreage. My children are grown, however, my daughter is looking to move to NYC in the near future. I do not need to worry about the schools, but I would like to be located within a decent school district because the resale value of the home will be higher.
I would prefer to be close to a highway, retail and restaurants.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

It sounds lovely. I am willing to drive up to one hour if I must. However, I would prefer to keep it within 45 minutes (one hour tops during heavy traffic).
About how long is the commute to NYC? We were just in NYC (we stayed at the Essex House - very nice, I highly recommend it) and we are in serious talks at this time about the move.
Am I crazy???

I have lived in Pequannock and the Pompton Plains areas all my life .....it is great, Wayne is also good but am not sure about the schools. Seriously watch for the flood zones but in your budget I am sure you can find something. Pompton Plains would be your best bet.........Good Luck!!

You wouldn't happen to have any zip codes for those would you?
