Default 1920 House with stone block foundation

Would a house built in 1920 with stone block foundation that seems to be well kept require alot of maintenance on the foundation? Do stone foundations loose heat and have leaking problems? Are they good sturdy foundations?

Stone foundations require periodic maintenance to repoint the mortar joints as needed and to maintain the mortar coating due to deterioration from natural moisture/dampness in the soil and air. Unlike block foundations they were generally they were constructed without a concrete footing to rest on.
