I was thinking about my area. I was looking on realtor.com and found a few houses in Keansburg. They have cleaned it up alot and has much better reputation than it did in the 80's and 90's. Cute town and you're near the beach.

I like this area. It's Central Jersey- so not far from NYC, beaches, cute towns and it's still affordable. I don't know about too many options for that price for 3 bed. Maybe you can consider 1-2 bedrooms for now. Remember, this is NJ. Not much under 200K.

Hope that helps!

Are you serious? A few years ago Irvington was the number one city in car theft rate for the entire country (8 of the top 10 were in New Jersey).

I drove through Keansburg and Union Beach recently and was surprised how good it looks. People seem to really take pride in their homes. The Union Beach waterfront was very nice for an evening stroll.

Welcome home and thank you for your sevice
If you are handy then you might be able to find a fixer upper in your range
but first check with the VA , they might have some homes in decent areas

Good luck & Thanks Again for your service
