Default First date in Somerville, NJ

If you were going to take someone out on a first date in Somerville, where would you go? I'm looking for something casual, but still a great place to eat. My favorites are a little pricier than I'd like to do on a first date. I think going to a pricier restaurant on a first date can make the other person feel a little awkward. Any suggestions?

I went to the 'Melting Pot' in Somerville. It's not cheap, cheap but it's an interesting place. It's fondue. At least with a boiling pot of oil between you, you'll have something to talk about....

Somerville for a first date, huh? I guess you're not looking for this relationship to last.....lol.

Seriously though, Filippo's on Main Street used to be an excellent restaurant- unless something has changed since I last ate there, it'd be an excellent choice. It's not ultra-expensive, but it's not McDonalds value meal pricing either.

Matinos if you like cuban, on main st as you enter town from the west -somerville. Good seafood place right across the st on the same side, can't recall the name.

Same side, same block is some Irish pub that used to be a sports bar, haven't been in there yet.

Alphonsos on main st, somerville, good casual first date place
