Looking on-line at a house for sale in Waldwick...the pictures of the large backyard look like there's some sort of steel runner sticking up from the ground along the yard's width...reminds me of a railroad runner.
Anyone have any idea or guesses what it could be? Maybe something to do with flooding problems...or maybe an old railway ran through there? Sorry, no address given. Just thinking maybe it's something common to the area...

I don't think it's a flooding preventative. Those are usually underground. Sounds like an old railroad runner.

railroad tie wall perhaps? Not uncommon as a landscape feature - edging.

I don't see any old RR lines running through there.

North of town the was a very short spur running off to the the NE.
