sweetpotato is on a distinguished road
i feel really sad about michael jackson. i feel like he died without really healing from his childhood trauma. his dad beat and abused him really badly, he even wept about it in an interview with oprah years back. multiple surgeries so he wouldn't look like his dad, neverland, abnormal obsession with children and childhood...

as I read somewhere today..."the tragedy is not his death, but his life".

Never liked the Jackson 5 and MJ in particular. I intensly dislike that whole falceto thing.

Then the thriller album came out.
That's a fabulous production. I had it and my son, his mom, and I danced ? to it often..Cranked up the stereo...Great music. Great fun.

Then he became WAY too weird.

What I find even more bizarre than his antics and plastic surgery are the parents that would let their children do "Sleep Overs"...even after allegations had surfaced....now THAT is truly bizarre. !!

I think he was a self tortured soul.
Final Judgment is above my pay grade.
I hope proper justice is metered out.

The sad part about this is the long list of doctors who performed all those surgeries on him or wrote perscription after perscription for narcotics just to collect a paycheck instead of "doing the right thing" and saying NO MORE !!!

i agree he was a tortured soul. i hope that in the next stage of his journey he finds the peace he wasn't able to find here.

i feel bad for him and i'm still not sure what to believe about his molestation charges. but that can't take away from his music, his talent and how much a part of my growing up he was. i watched some of the videos today and it brought me back to a much more simple time in my life.

i am sad about him, about farrah and about ed mcmahon. may they all be at peace.

I am not perfect so i choose not to throw stones. I hope that mj and farrah are at peace, wherever they are.

Off my soapbox now.

In any case I hope he is finally at peace
Couldn't agree with you more Kate. I have actually blogged on this... none of us really know, but of course we have all the "know it alls" who know everything. I don't think he was right, I also think he was the victim of child abuse on a massive level, and I agree... I'm still waiting for the "victim" whose family had to get paid to have a tell all some day saying nothing ever happened....because they were shady as hell too. But MJ the adult was defiantly not in the all together and people love to attack that. His music was ledgendary and he was our generations Elvis... death and all. There is NO ONE of this generation of music who compares to these guys. I remember people mourning Elvis...but he was a drug addict and abused women, so what the heck... they are ARTISTS. They are usually tortured souls on some level. Respect their music and understand that you don't know THEM and move on.

When someone has obscene sums of money there are many leaches who come out to try to get a part of it. Unless you have superior mental strength or people around you who are trustworthy (I think MJ had neither) you're doomed before you start....
