I think this is a good legislation for a change, thoughts?

Default seems to make sense but.....

I'm sure this will be beneficial to some extent but wonder about the origin of this law's creation. Something not right here.

How many cases have there been where a call for medical care was not made because of potential prosecution? That should be a telling lesson about your 'friends'. Would like to see those numbers and the number of projected deaths that would be prevented.

Does this law have precedent in other states?

I think of the laws that protect newborn babies and moms where the mom can drop off the child as opposed to dumping it the garbage. Still read of many dumpster babies despite the law.

Suppose you are doing drugs and drinking? Guess the alcohol charges would be ignored but you would still be prosecuted for doing drugs?
So if the immunity is good only if the person is drinking would that further reduce the usefulness of this law? Say there are 5 guys drinking and one makes the call. 4 guys are prosecuted and one guy is protected? Hmmmm.

Say your in a frat and someone gets alcohol poisoining. You are of such low moral character that you would let your bud die rather than call for help. someone reminds you that you can't be prosecuted for drinking. Hmmm? "If we call we will be kicked off campus and maybe out of school but we won't be prosecuted for drinking?" "Hey, let's make that call'.

Wonder what the loop holes will be when you get a determined prosecutor on the case?

Seems good, but I need the 'rest of the story'. How prevalent is the situation you want to prevent and how effective will this law be?

i agree. i think this is a good law. Although in an ideal world, the police should consider these things and use their judgment and not bring charges in a situation like this.

Dont like it. Will only encourage more teenage drinking and more deaths due to drunk driving. I say keep law same and prosecute to fullest. I have no tolerance for teenage drinking.

Do you have tolerance for an 18 or 19 year old fighting in Mosul?
