Don't quit your day job. Or don't quit it until you are absolutely sure you got the directors job in the bag.
I like Jersey tags, I can recognize it from a distance, like Colorado or Delaware.

Is this actually the case? Of course not...but looking at that plate one can surely think otherwise.

Not only is it lifeless but it's remained unchanged for almost 20 years. In that time pretty much every state in America has introduced new plates.

If I was ever hired as Director of Tourism (or whatever the title is called) pushing for a change to that license plate would be one of the very FIRST things I would do.

If someone's hobby is license plate "watching" or collecting, fine, knock yourself out; I actually very much enjoy hanging old plates in my garage. However, to suggest that there is a connection between license plate design and how non-residents perceive a state is beyond silly.

Born and raised in South Jersey. Moved to Arizona 1 year ago to be near family and my husbands job. I have been back to NJ 3 times already. I just made plane reservations to come back again the first week in october. I can"t wait!!! Just a couple of weeks.!! I have a "Jersey Girl" bumper sticker on my car. Bash NJ just because I do not live there anymore??? Not me, never!!

It could be!! What town/city do you live in? I live in the Ironbound, which originally got that name because it is surrounded by railroad tracks. But maybe the name is more appropriate now because the Ironbound is surrounded by 55 gallon steel drums. If you look at the list of where Jersey's toxic waste dumps are located you might be surprised to find out that they are not all located in it's northeastern cities.

I live in Pa. now but was raised in Newark, Jersey City and Down the Shore. Used to work in Newark on Broad and Market and used to hang out in Ironbound years ago.
