My son is starting first grade at the new Grieco school in September and I am a bit skeptical. I live on the south east side of Englewood and notice that all of my neighbors send thier children to private or catholic schools.
Does anyone have any experience with the public elementary schools in Englewood? I am concerned that my son won't be in a diverse (socially, racially and economically) environment as he was in private preschools and it concerns me.
Terrible school system, built by people who don't care about the Children. I know from sending my Daughter to Dwight Morrow. After 2 months in, I pulled her right out! Any sensible parent would do the same, if you saw that school. Its filled with Thugs, Loose girls, and children who have no regard on their future. I will add that some of the children at that school are indeed smart, most of them are. But with those teachers who don't care about them, plus the Enviornment they live in (yes, Englewood's 4th and 3rd wards have terrible reputations), some of them turn to be Gangsters, Drug dealers, and yes some of them do end up making a life for themselves.Don't believe what the Englewood Board tells you, they are in aquaintance with the local government who are revamping Englewood into a Richer, more upper-class city. Until it is, do NOT send your child there! Its scary!!!!!
