which town is best for a day or 2 trip to jersey shore?
Traveling from PA- only want to travel 3 hours or so. So want to stay north of AC- have been there several times, just want a beach day or 2 trip this time.
Don't really have any knowledge of the towns.. have heard pt pleasant is a nice place. Group of 4-5 young adults (mid 20s).. would like a fun, active town, but have heard seaside heights is a litte crazy, so maybe somewhere else. Just looking for a nice clean beach, good restaurants, a fun bar or two, and would really like a good area for crabbing the second day!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

I would completely recommend Pt Pleasant. There is a great variety of things for you to do.

Belmar has bars but is cleaning up to be a family town. It's got a little of both. Point Pleasant is nice because of arcades, etc. on the boardwalk but it gets VERY crowded. In Belmar, if you don't like it, it's closer to Avon, Bradley Beach and Ocean Grove-all which are quieter and you can walk right across the bridge to Avon. I'd recommend Belmar or Point Pleasant, depending on whether you want the arcades/clubs on the boardwalk (Point) or whether you are looking for bars (Belmar) and closer beaches to walk to (the boardwalks are all connected in Belmar, Avon and Bradley Beach).

If you go to Wildwood just be aware one side does not allow alcohol.

Seaside isn't that crazy. It's not like it's New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

All depends what you're looking for and what type of guys you are. If you're meathead guidos looking to hit some clubs, seaside or perhaps belmar would be the place. If you're just some regular guys looking for a nice beach and some more normal bars, LBI could work, Manasquan maybe. Based on your description, I think LBI or Manasquan would be my suggestion.
