Default Rental House in Cranbury and surrounding towns

My husband has been offered a job in Cranbury and we are looking to rent a house. We have two small dogs and two cats, oh and three young kids! But we've got excellent rental references and we're really great renters, it just makes sense for us to rent right now because we've been moving around the last few years as hubby has worked in the semiconductor industry which has fallen apart.

We love the smalltown feel of Cranbury and are hoping to rent there but are open to a small commute. Also, our rent here in Richmond VA is currently $1300 and hubby is taking on a lower salary - are we going to survive in NJ? But we carry no debt currently, no car loans or credit cards, only rent and basic living expenses.

Anyone know of a few rental houses available, or places we can search for rental houses?

Thanks!

Cranbury, itself, will probably not be a rental option for you, it is a pricy little town.
But there are nearby towns that you might take a look at, Jamesburg, Dayton and East Windsor are very close and Hamilton and South Brunswick are only about 15-20 minutes away.
To start, you might look at Realtor.com and check the rental option.
Here are the zip codes for these nearby towns....
Dayton 08810
Jamesburg 08831
East Windsor 08520
Hamilton and South Brunswick have several zips.
Hope you find something that works for you and your family!

Cranbury is a lovely town. Your budget is low though. Looking on Realtor.com, I don't see any rentals in Cranbury right now anyway.

You're probably looking at a 2br apartment if that is your budget, in that general area around Cranbury. If you can go up in budget a bit more, you can get a 3br townhouse or small house. I'll be honest, all of your pets might be an issue also, so it's going to take some searching to find a place.

Try South Brunswick. Robbinsville. Hamilton is another option. Use 08690 for the search for Hamilton.

Going further south, try Chesterfield, Mansfield/Columbus. Bordentown Township is nice too.

As you go further south, things get cheaper. Cinnaminson is a nice town, and more affordable, but will be a longer commute (45 min to 1 hr).

To be honest, if that is your budget, or somewhere around that, you'll want to look at south of Cranbury, in South Jersey. It's going to be a commute for your husband, but you'll get more for your money.

Good luck with your move.
