I often listen to 90.7 mHz FM, WFUV from Fordham Univ in the Bronx, they picked up a lot of the former WNEW-FM dj's, also 91.1 WFMU is a free from non-profit, used to be from Upsala College but now is in J City with the stick on top of the big hill in W Orange.

Further South I pick up 90.5 from Brookdale College in Monmouth County.

Try 91.5 for some good shows. Also, 101.9 & 107.1.
