Holmdel vs Middletown (pro's, Con's) ??
Looking to move off the parkway exit 109-117. Been looking at Holmdel, Middletown (south), and Lincroft.
Pro's, Con's to each town?

I think that all 3 of those are great areas.

All nice areas but Newman Springs Rd in Lincroft has heavy traffic. Brookdale, CBA and Parkway on the road.

Anything in Middletown around the Navesink River (Locust Section etc.) is big bucks territory, many of the homes well north of $2 million. Most would consider this area to be more upscale then Holmdel. Not taking this into account, I would agree with you overall though.

Lincroft is a section of Middletown. It's not a separate municipality.

So Lincroft = middletown schools?
I am looking in the nutswamp and oak hill sections of middletown. I also saw some homes in our price range in lincroft and holmdell. I guess I need to drive the areas and see.

Lincroft = Middletown South HS as does everything on the south side RT 35
North of RT 35 = Middletown North HS
Holmdel = Holmdel High School
As said previously all great areas, all very good schools, can go wrong with any of it.

Interesting tread, I also am trying to decide on moving to Holmdel. From what I have read and heard Holmdel schools are top notch. They are in rated in the top one percent not only in the state but in the country. I personally don't put too much stock into these rankings but I do believe Holmdel does have excellent schools.
I have been reading the Holmdel Voice online and there are a few things that concern me such as a possible new sewer line that could lead to new zoning and development. There's also the old Lucent property which is 400+ acre's that is up in the air as far as future use. I have heard everything from solar farms to low income housing.
