Default Garage door opener installation service?
I have a one-car garage and want to have an automatic door opener installed. I called Sears and they charge $425 for parts and installation. Are there any other companies in or around Essex County that could do it cheaper?

Check with Home Depot or Lowes too.

That sounds a bit high (but not sure how expensive the parts are that you're ooking at). I think many openers are $150-$200, and I would have guessed no more than $100 to install (assuming no wiring issues).

I would assume any General Handyman should be able to do it. My guy doesnt generally go that far north or Id give you his number.

If that installation ($100) includes installation of an outlet on your garage ceiling ($100) and a belt drive opener ($200). You could do it yourself though! it is pretty easy.
