Default Driving commute from Westfield to WTC? Better or worse than from Summit?

Can someone tell me how you would drive the commute from Westfield to WTC? DH drives from Summit to Harrison then takes the PATH in. The drive from Harrison to Summit at night (he works late hours), is pretty easy, morning commute on 78 is also ok, lots of traffic, but it moves at a good pace. He leaves Summit around 7:45am to get into the office by 8:45/9am.

Thanks in advance!

Westfield would be quite similar, with maybe the choice of the double doozy, US22, instead of I-78, especially since the highway extortionists want to be bribed with a dollar to use the GSP a few feet to get to I-78.

If you're talking about driving all the way into WTC instead of taking the PATH, figure on adding 30 minutes or so to that commute. The backup on the Turnpike Extension and through the tunnel will be extremely painful at 8:00-8:30.

Quick answer is whatever has the easier access to the highway. Not knowing where the exact location of the starting points that your comparing is going to be difficult to gage since both town are failrly large and in both cases the east side of town is much closer to the highway.

I thought as much, given the structure of Westfield's roads. We would be coming from the NE side, the closet major road being E. Broad Street
My husband doesn't want to drive into WTC. Just to somewhere where he can catch the PATH straight in. Basically eliminate the NJ train connection, so he doesn't have to be dependent on the night train schedules. Does anyone do the commute half drive and half train from Westfield to WTC (or wall street), or do they just do all train, or all drive? Is it best to get onto the crazy 22 to get to GSP, or is there a quicker local route to get to GSP from our side of town? And is Harrison the stop that he should still aim to park at, if so?

The NJ Raritan Valley Line to the PATH is an easy connection. Check out towns along that train line. Good homes and schools. Leave the driving to others.
