Default Rush hour traffic on 287 from Sommerville to Morristown

How bad is morning rush hour traffic from Sommerville to Morristown on interstate 287? Is 202 any better? Thanks all.

I don't travel from Somerville to Morristown on 287 but I do get on 287 and exit at 10, which is before the Somerville area. I can say that the cars are CRAWLING around 8:00ish 287N. No idea how long that lasts but on some days, cars are just parked. I am only going from exit 9 to 10 so I can deal with it.

If during rush hour coming from rt 22 it will be crawl then eventually open up north of 22 on 287. An accident, rain, you will be significantly delayed.

I drive this route every day but usually after 9:00am. Unless there is a crash (no such thing as an accident, it's always some body's fault) traffic moves along slowly but steadily. If you can leave before 7:00am traffic moves much better.

Thanks for your replies! In addition, I found a website which can send you emails with camera snapshots on major highways at preset times. Perhaps, someone else would have a similar question, so they can use this service at TrafficLand.com - Traffic Cameras, Traffic Video, Live Traffic Cams.

exit 1 to about exit 12 northbound is HORRIBLE in the morning from about 7:30-8:00 until about 9:00-9:30. Before and after that it should be fine.
