Need short term rental in mon/ocean county nj
Separating from husband and need a short term rental in Monmouth/Ocean County. We just moved to New Jersey so I am not familiar with the towns. I work in Red Bank. I would appreciate some direction.

If you can wait 'til after Labor Day, you'll get some 'deals of the century' anywhere close to the beach.

I agree with Verado.
When we first moved back to Jersey in Feb'08, we only needed short-term housing and we had 2 dogs. NOT EASY!
I got a month to month winter rental. Yes, you will have to wait til after Labor Day.
GL and I am sorry about your situation.

I know this is about two months old, but does anyone have any idea where to look for such a short-term rental? I'm in North Jersey, work in NYC and am just starting to look for a condo/townhouse in the north Monmouth County area. Currently sharing an apartment to keep costs down, but the roommate is unbearable. It would be worth my while to just rent somewhere down there for 3 or 4 months.
Glitch is that I have four indoor cats.

Cats usually aren't a problem, though I'm not sure about keeping four of them at once. Look in the area around Sandy Hook - you can probably find something in Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach, Long Branch or Atlantic Highlands. All of them probably have tons of condos for rent for the winter. Then you could take the ferry to NYC.

Thanks. I went ahead and posted on craigslist and I have two responses already.
yes, it's the "four-at-once" that's usually the kicker. Fortunately, the landlord I had when I took these cats in "temporarily" for a friend four years ago was a vet and he had no problem.
