Default Best shore town for young people

Hey there,
I'm trying to plan a shore vacation with some friends and myself and we are all in our low-mid 20's. Which town would be a nice party town, without being over run with the Long Island, Staten Island "my new haircut" types?

Most of the so called party towns down the shore are frequented by the LI/SI types - belmar, seaside, pt pleasant, etc. Manasquan has a party crowd that's less guido than the other towns i mentioned. I wouldn't call Sea Girt a party town but it's a nice beach town and it has a few good bars like the Parker House, Porch, etc. LBI maybe. I think some of the towns further south like Avalon and Stone Harbor could work too.

Also, I say this both with a 'believe it or not' or 'finally', Asbury Park has been on the up n up with a party crowd scene including several musical venues, Pone Stoney (Stone Poney) outdoor stage, etc.

You dont want to stay multiple days in Asbury Park.

Check out Wildwood if you dont mind driving all the way down there. not so much of the Staten Island guidos down that far.

Besides that, Seaside, Belmar, or Point pleasant would be your choices. But you will see the type you are describing.

I'd also say Belmar, Seaside and Point Pleasant. Seaside is very young & rundown, the beaches aren't that nice there either.

For a nice beach atmosphere with young people Point Pleasant is great with Jenkinson and Martel's tiki bar right on the boardwalk. At these places you can get drinks at the bar, hear some good music while laying out and no families on these beaches.

Belmar's beaches are nice but not that great of party atmosphere since there's no beach club persay. But there are more after beach clubs not far from the beach like DJ's, Bar A

I think for what you are looking for Point Pleasant is the way to go. You can go to Jenkensen's on Friday or Saturday nights for Bands and Djs. It is indoor and Outdoor and on the water. Sunday afternoon you can go to Jenks or Tiki Bar for an all day Beach Club party.

Ortley/ Seaside has more places but they are filled with North Jersey/ Staten Island Fist Pumpers with thier Ed Hardy Shirts and waxed eyebrows.

my brother rents a place in manasquan, he hates those types of guys so its probably a decent bet. i think all the big party towns have a decent share of the "my new haircut" types running around so its unavoidable.

i went to a bar with my wife and brother on long beach island one night. its not really a party town so you dont get those guys. however, this night there was one group of like 3 or 4 friends that were big musclepigs with those blowout haircuts. me and my wife left my brother there and of course we find out the next day that he got into a yelling match with those guys. im glad he hasnt gotten into any real fights in a long, though a couple weeks ago in AC it got close.

Thanks everyone. So far between here and asking other people Manasquan seems like where I'll try to focus. I just want to be able to have a good vaca, have some beers, and not have to deal with guys telling their bro's how sick their tri's are, or how many shots of malibu they did.

If the Jersey Shore isn't good enough for you why not just go to the Hamptons?
