Default Moving to work in Jersey City...IDEAS FOR LIVING??

Hey everyone..first post so be gentle:

Company may be moving to Jersey City from NYC. Currently live in NYC, but have been planning the move to Jersey for a while. Now that we are moving I need to find a nice, safe town for my wife and 2 month old daughter. Schools are not an issue (for now), but just looking for some ideas. Don't mind commuting, just as long as it's reasonable (<1hr). Any ideas are welcome....

btw - forgot to add: looking to buy single family house. 2-3br, trying to keep it under 450K.
