tip-remember you are on a road test course, so you have to drive slower than you would on the road.
try to relax
if you don't understand the examiner's instructions, ask them to explain or repeat the instruction
remember...2 hands on the wheel (10 and 2), make sure you come to a full stop at the stop sign, hand over hand, turn around and look to the rear when you back up, signal for any turn or change of direction...make sure you practice parallel parking...and did I mention relax
good luck!

Whatever the result, it happens for ur good. I passed in 4th attempt. But i'm glad they failed me 3 times. Each time I learned something new. First time, they failed me for not looking out for pedestrians while taking right turn. That is a life saving tip for me and others.
Dont be nervous..few tips..
1. seat belt first
2. set rear view and side view mirror
3. look back and side while taking out
4. watch speed limit especially in school zone
5. stop before STOP sign.
6. dont go too slow
7. no sudden breaks
8. indicators
9. maintain distance from front vehicles..no tailgating
10. and smile
good luck..

The above advice is all good.......except for the beer, "fattie" thing (LOL).
The good thing about the Lawrence MVC is that you will be all by yourself on a controlled access test course......no other cars and no pedestrians.
The actual time on the course is less than 15 minutes. They do make you parallel park. Make sure you use your turn signals, come to a full stop at the stop sign, stay in your lane.
The best advice....go over there on Sunday and practice.
Good Luck!

I agree with tips so far, including the "don't drive too slowly." I failed my first try for "not keeping up with the flow of traffic" (20mph in a 25mph zone). I don't know if the Lawrence location has you park on a hill, but if you do, you should find out which way to cut the wheel. I had to do that when I took my road test at a different location years ago; I just called up on a local driving school and asked them and they told me. They were also able to tell me the dimensions of the space for the parallel parking so that I could best practice on my own (I don't recall anymore - it was something like 26' x 5' or something).

Also make sure the vehicle you come in is legal, reg, inspected, insurance, etc., no obvious faults and I'm quite sure you can't have any console between the front seats so the MV inspector can access the brakes if he/she had to.
Back when I was a kid I lent my friend my car for a road test and the inspector said the only he was passing was because I had a crucifix on the dashboard, lol. He made a few novice mistakes like blowing the stop sign, etc, but he let him go anyway.

Well most of the "asking" is during the "written" portion of the test, which I assume you already took. Anyway that nowadays is done on a computer.
Not much asking on the road test, mostly observing how you drive. Actually they usually ask you to parallel park the car or tell you which way to go, etc. You need to be observant, same as if you where on a crowded road.
