John, as far as calling someone an idiot I think I'd check your grammar first. Sounds like you have about, what?? A fifth grade education. Really su*ks when you get busted in mom's Fiesta doing 45 in a 25. But hey, you have to blame it on someone...right?
Now back to the basement with your Gameboy and comic books.

I'd say that is total BS. Does everyone in Maywood start at 100K? Or is it just that they haven't hired a officer in the last 14 years and all of those rookies now have moved up the pay scale to what would be at or beyond the top pay scale in most towns in NJ. Get your facts right before you post an obviously false statement.
As far as the number of officers in the department, doesn't Maywood have one of the busiest highways in the state running through it? Next to the most densely populated retail mall region in the country. Factor into that the need for manpower on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis. Deduct the administration and Special Division personnel and vacation, holiday and sick time an 24 sounds about right.
Or are you one of those typical NJ resident that complains when they have to pay for the service and complain even louder when they call and it takes 3 minutes to arrive. but we want less on the street. Go figure. Typical NJ a*s backward thinking. I want it all and I want it for free.

I'll bet most police officers in NJ don't even know what the 4th ammendment is.

I have yet to meet one with a passing grade in cultural sensitivity or phys-ed but that's probably because they dont exist. I also have never met one with a personality but that trait is not something taught in schools.

1) Yes, they do have degrees. I know several personally who do.
2) I'd rather my town's cops not be focusing on "cultural diversity" in the first place.
3) They're not your friends and you're not at their house for a BBQ. They're at work, it's business - they should be professional and reasonably courteous, but they don't have to entertain you with incredible personalities.

Even if a cop is making $100K, I highly doubt they could afford to live in a town like Rumson or Mantoloking, for example. I'm sure they wouldn't mind making enough to live there, however, so if that's what you're proposing...

Now if they only did what they were supposed to do huh.
A college degree is not required in NJ to be a pig nor is it in most states. Only an urge to push people around and extort money from law abiding citizens. Basicly the need to feel like a big bad dude.
You better believe they are not my friends. With friends like that who needs enemies? That would be like a Boa Constricter and a Mongoose getting together. Or maybe a Deer hunter and a Deer. One defenseless person VS a big bad donut muncher with a big bad gun.

That's how it is where I live. You can't drive even a few miles without passing multiple cars and overall, this is a pretty low crime area. No, I don't mean that the police are mopping up; I mean that the majority of people around here don't goof up badly enough or often enough to require a strong police presence. I've had contact with some of the local officers and they are OK. The thing that really bothers me is that there is some sort of subgroup, sect, of people hating, powermonging ubercop around here that really gives me the creeps.
The police around here do not know how to cultivate community support. My husband is a retired Green Beret. We could have been an asset to the community in that respect; community watch or similar program. No, no game. They seem to think that harassment with impunity is the order of the day. They don't know what they've lost.

I think its really odd. the areas that have no crime (because good people live there, not because of the police), are loaded with cops that make big bucks. The cities pay is extremely low and they dont have enough cops.

Geez man, did a cop run over your dog or something? If you have had that many negative encounters with law enforcement to hate cops to such an extent, something tells me you're the type who has deserved it.

Ending with "is" often creates an awkward, deflated conclusion to a sentence--and an inflated word count.

As the above statement proves that you have no idea about your facts. Judging by the very fact that you can't even SPELL Amendment, do you know what it covers?
You might put down the Game-boy and check the facts. The NJ state Police and more than a few municipal agencies require at least 60 credits. But as a high school dropout, you don't have a chance.
Sorry. Bye Bye. so Long. Time for you to flip the burgers and get those fries out of the grease.

Wrong. I usually have to add a disclosure at the end of my post saying I never been arrested or put in jail so I dont get the hate mail.
My problem is the way the law abiding citizens look up to these street thugs like they are some God. They are not. The vast majority of them spend their careers on traffic duty harassing innocent people making revenue. These are pigs. For those who write me hate mail wondering if I think those who investigate crimes are pigs...no, they are Detectives.
Our problem with pigs is every day we watch them rolling stop signs, racing 30MPH over the limit while leisure crusing, running red lights because they dont feel like sitting there with the rest of us peons, begging the girl at Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds for free food while the rest of us have to pay..... My experience shows the majority of citizens are ok with this, I am not. They are thugs, they are not protectors to anyone but themselves. If you only knew the half of it.
