North Jersey in the movies
I just saw 'Bandslam'. The backdrop was a Northern NJ town, and it seemed as a nice cool place to live, much like what was done in 'Garden State', which I think also used a Bergen County town. The town mentioned was Lodi, NJ in Bergen County. From the plot, they were close to the city as well. Anyone see the movie: is the town like that?

Well, northern NJ IS a cool place to live. But no, I didn't see the movie. Lodi isn't far from the city. I always had the impression of Lodi as a rundown and depressing sort of place, but a couple of months ago I had to drive someone there and I was shocked. They've updated and redone their business/downtown area, and it was very appealing. The houses seem smallish and close together, but the house I went to was very nice inside and out. If you're not looking for a huge backyard, it might be a good town to live in. Don't know anything about schools, etc. But it changed my mind to see how the town has improved.
