Hello Everyone!
Let me cut to the chase.
A couple months ago a lightning strike took out my well pump.
The well pump is stuck in the well.
I brought in a few well experts and non were able to remove the pump.
The township will not give a permit to dig a new well since I have a city water hook up outside my house.
So I was forced into connecting to city water.
Now It comes time to decommission or abandon my old well with the pump stuck in it. The NJDEP says that my well must be clear of all obstructions in order to seal the well. In order to remove the pump a well company will need to come out and use a rig to bust out and clear the pump! Thats expensive.
What is crazy is that after they clear out the pump why would I want to abandon it? I would want to stick a new pump down there and use it!
If you are following me here everything should start to look insane and ass backwards.
Now im kind of stuck in this expensive situation.
I have heard about changing my well over to irrigation with a change of permit.

Do you think it will just be possible to change my well to an irrigation permit even though it doesn't work and has a pump stuck in it, just to satisfy the township and there need to have me decommission the well?
